Osprey Woodcraft was established in 2009. Everything I sell is handmade in a small Eastern Connecticut wood shop; keeping the "Made in America" tradition alive. All the items are handcrafted with quality materials and an attention to detail. The majority of the lumber used is from local mills or local grown trees I season and mill myself. I prefer to use Atlantic White Cedar for my outdoor wood products because its weather durability.
The Atlantic White Cedar grows in swamp bogs from Maine to Mississippi. Unlike pine, the oils in white cedar make it naturally resistance
to decay so it does not need to be treated with copper chromium arsenic to resist decay like pressure treated lumber.
The Atlantic white cedar I use comes from a local mill that supports Sound Harvesting Techniques. Their white cedar comes “from managed timberlands. The wetlands are neither destroyed nor converted and the continued regeneration of white cedar continues. The goal of more timber growth than timber harvest has been achieved in recent years”
I create these woodcrafts as a part time hobby business and primarily sell my work at local craft shows.
Inventory is limited and prices are subject to change.
